Back in the 80's (that is the 1980's) We contracted Countryside Kitchens which was somewhere between Grandridge and Starved Rock to customize our kitchen.
We had Amish custom made cabinetry installed and the final staining was finished by CSK. (I believe)
Now some.... 25+yrs. later we are trying to match the same stain used for our cabinetry which is in great need of major touch ups plus some customized pieces my "Inspector Gadget" hubby ingeniously is creating to make life easier for me in the years to come.
CSK has since moved on and the last we heard they were located in WI. This project of our remake of our kitchen is turning into over a "3" yr. project which I won't bore all of you with the details.
My point; Vic Dimmig was the owner of CSK back in the 80's and moved on to WI. We located him "once" in the past "3" yrs. but have once again lost complete contact with him.
AS for my question; does anyone know of the whereabouts of Mr. Dimmig or Mrs. Dimmig who I believe did the design part of the business and Mr. Dimmig was the Carpenter. (That is If my memory is not failing me?)
We are hoping Vic Dimmig is still in the Carpentry business..... Somewhere AND may still have knowledge of which Oak stains were used back then. What we chose was NOT a stain that was out of the ordinary at the time. When we try to match stain colors now, they are either with too much of a red tone, gun-smoke tone, or yellow tone.
The cost to re-stain every cabinet within our kitchen and dining area is well over what our budget would allow. I guess this is sort of "looking for a needle in a haystack" so to speak. Odder things have been known to happen.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated and I thank anyone who is willing to reply.
